I will try to design more engaging work with choice of product. I want to take a more in-depth look at each students learning style to design lessons that are more meaninful that will incorporate the design qualities. I will not expect everyone to have the same product to demonstrate understanding of the standard.-Katie Colson
Designing more engaging and relevant lessons that allow the student to have Youth Voice and take ownership of their learning. Using more technology and inquiry based activities that allow students to explore and deepen their beliefs that their education is important to them and is need in order for them to be successful.
More pulling, less pushing; more facilitating, less lecturing; more engaging lessons, less ritually compliant learners; more student choice/student-driven learning, less "one-size-fits-all."
I will be doing more designing and not just planning. I will be asking better questions to assess my students to see if they're really engaged in the lesson.
As an AC, I'm going to need to conduct more model lessons and PD surrounding Engagement and worry less about teachers drill, drill, drilling for that CRCT! Obviously it doesn't matter how much we drill if the students just aren't finding lasting purpose and meaning in it.
I foresee more time designing and constantly evaluating my "who". My role will change to facilitator which works more like a conductor of an orchestra.
There would be more time at the beginning of the year getting to know the students so that I could create lessons that fit my customer. There would be less teacher directed instruction.
A WOW classroom should move from a push environment to a pull environment. The teacher should shift roles from being the primary provider of knowledge and instruction to a facilitator role where she is designing work for students to explore and gain understanding in their own way.
My role as a teacher is to meet students where they are and help them build the skills and concepts needed from prior knowledge. The student should be in charge and responsible for their learning. The teacher should design work to help students develop their own personal understanding of the content.
More spreading the word to other teachers while facilitating professional learning. Having conversations about our core beliefs and designing work for our students.
Being an academic coach, I need to assure my teachers planning and collaborating time. I need to continually ask if they need resources that will help engage the students. I need to encourage far less whole time and more group work. I need to provide as much professional development as needed in small groups environments.
I would carefully plan and design meaningful work by having more conversations with the students and other colleagues in regards to "What works?" I would choose to facilitate and discuss rather than lecture...

More facilitating and discussion. Less teaching to the whole.
from El, Sharon K, Barbara, Lorrie, and Jean,
There will be more facilitating---"more pulling out from the students, less of pushing in".

As teachers in a WOW classroom, we would be a facilitator / guide than a director / teacher.

Less lectures and more discussion. The students are leading their own learning with the teachers simply acting as an extra resources.

More designing and guiding instead of proding and planning!

I believe I will be more of a resource to my students, a guide, rather than the teacher transmitting knowledge and hoping they "get it."
More designing of standards rather than planning of standards.
As a classroom teacher, I would be doing more guiding, planning, facilitating, collaborating, and designing and less lecturing and photocopying.
More facilitating and discussion. Less teaching to the whole. More designing around my "WHO"

More unit planning and facilitating, real world relevent learning....less whole group generic teaching.
